Ballet students
from Marian McDermott School of Dance proudly present the premier of "The
Gypsy Caravan". A visually stunning ballet about a crowd of colourful
gypsies who visit a normally quiet village and liven things up! The story
includes a spectacular snow scene where winter really comes to life and
you will meet the beautiful Snow Queen and her entourage including ice,
sleet, frost and hail.
The Gypsy Caravan is an original
ballet created by Marian especially for the students. Marian's ballets
are always very creative and go far beyond what is normally expected.
With a cast of 170 talented dancers wearing absolutely gorgeous costumes,
it promises to be well worth seeing. An entertaining family show suitable
for all ages.
We also perform contemporary
and jazz pieces including a special performance by our highly regarded
senior contemporary students and choreographed by tutor Colette Arnold
from Back Lit Productions.
