"The Greatest Show on Earth"

2003 Show

Sunday, September 7th at Centrestage Theatre, Orewa.

This year the annual show was performed at Centrestage Theatre. This performance gave our students an opportunity to learn choreography, rehearse with other dancers till a high standard is attained and then perform on stage in costume. It was an exciting and rewarding experience for everyone. Both shows were completely sold out and members of the audience reported the show was highly entertaining and very professional.

The Greatest Show on Earth

"The Greatest Show on Earth" - The Story

A group of children and adults go on an outing to see a circus show. The children are welcomed by some balloon sellers and the Ringmaster. The circus starts with a grand parade and all goes well until the acrobat dance. Three of the acrobats would rather play the part of clowns and they purposely ruin the acrobat dance. Next, three clowns would rather be acrobats so they purposely ruin the clown dance. The Ringmaster is furious. In the dressing room he reprimands the performers. The show continues but the Ringmaster decides that rather than risk the show being ruined again he will compromise and allow the clowns and acrobats to swap parts. He visits them in the dressing room and gives his decision. The dancers swap costumes and go on to perform confidently and happily in the role they really wanted in the first place. The circus is a huge success and
everyone celebrates.
